Tunelark Your Profile & Growing Your Studio

Building a great profile gets you on the page. What you do from there determines how long you stay, how many students find you, and how quickly your studio grows.

How the Ranking System Works

Teachers on Find-a-Teacher are ranked. Your position in search results directly affects how often new students see you — and how often they select you. The ranking system considers several factors: your profile’s attraction rate, your available booking slots, how many new students you’ve recently received, and your sustainability score.

Teachers whose sustainability score falls below 90% are removed from Find-a-Teacher regardless of everything else.

And there is one factor that overrides the rest: whether you have consultation calls on. Teachers who offer consultation calls are ranked above all teachers who do not — automatically. It is the most powerful ranking lever available to you.

Consultation Calls

Consultation calls are a free, optional 15-minute pre-booking phone call that prospective students can schedule with you through Google Calendar’s Appointment Schedule feature.

Why they matter for bookings: many students — especially adults — want to speak with a teacher briefly before committing to a paid trial lesson. Offering that option removes a real barrier to booking. Teachers who offer consultation calls get booked faster and more often than those who do not.

Why they matter for your ranking: having consultation calls turned on places you above every Find-a-Teacher teacher who does not offer them. It is the single most impactful thing you can do for your visibility on the page.

One practical note: use a Google Voice account or block your number when making these calls. Consultation callers are new prospective students — not existing ones — and you may prefer not to share your personal number before someone has booked a paid lesson with you.

Your Two Tunelark Links

There are two different Tunelark links, and understanding the difference protects you and your studio.

tunelark.com/teachers is your Tunelark-referred booking link. This is the link for anyone who found you through Tunelark’s marketing — including students from consultation calls, which Tunelark set up for you. Use this link when directing a consultation call student to sign up.

tunelark.com/profile is your teacher-referred link. When a student signs up through this link, you earn 88% of every lesson fee starting from the trial. But this link is only for students you recruited entirely on your own — someone who had no prior knowledge of Tunelark before you personally introduced them to the platform.

Using the teacher-referred link for a Tunelark-referred student — for example, telling a consultation call student to sign up through your profile link — is a serious violation. Tunelark monitors this. Teachers who do it lose access to new students from the platform. Use each link for what it was designed for.

Staying Eligible for New Students

Staying eligible for Tunelark-referred students comes down to the professional practices covered throughout this training series. Show up reliably. Complete your check-in surveys. Avoid last-minute lesson changes. Maintain your profile. Keep your sustainability score healthy. And offer consultation calls.

Removal from Find-a-Teacher is not removal from the platform — your personal booking page stays active, and students who find you through your own outreach can still book you. But the teachers who stay visible the longest, and get the most from Find-a-Teacher, are not doing anything complicated.

They built their profile with care. They show up consistently. They treat their studio like the business it is. That is the standard this course is built around.
