Features Now Live in Production

Shipped

Five features from prior sprints that crossed the finish line this period and are now running in production.

  • Teacher Dashboard Bundled Release — three PRs merged together (#5190 Teacher Dashboard Cleanup, #5191 Post-Lesson Dashboard Actions, #5192 Track Join Lesson Clicks). All teacher dashboard improvements are now live.
  • Monthly Churn Reduction Email (#5175) — deployed to production. Feature fires on its monthly cadence.
  • Monthly Teacher Stats Email — first monthly send went out April 1. Automated, live, firing on schedule.
  • Admin Instructors Page Cleanup — live in production, simpler admin view.
  • Admin Referral Filters (#5193) — merged. Referral classification and filtering available on the admin Referrals page.

Lesson Rating System

PRD Finalized

Aaron’s Find-A-Teacher review feedback fully incorporated through 25+ refinement commits in mid-April. PRD V3 finalized and sent to Rahul 2026-04-19. Implementation queued.

  • Display choices hardcoded per Aaron’s feedback — toggle panel removed, compact FAT star view, star hover fills 1 through N
  • Minimum 10 lessons before a star rating is shown; “New to Tunelark” badge for teachers under that threshold
  • 20% Flipper A/B rollout plan with server-side backup table for experiment assignments
  • GA4 conversion-funnel instrumentation planned via Measurement Protocol so we can see real conversion lift
👥

Teacher New-Student Cap

Scoped

New roadmap feature scoped on 2026-04-20. PRD in review. Caps new-trial intake for popular teachers so demand rotates to the rest of the marketplace. Open scoping questions captured in the roadmap doc (cap size, window, admin override, FAT behavior when capped, teacher UX, interaction with ranking). Target implementation May.

Tunelark Product Roadmap

Published

Full 2026 product roadmap built out on 2026-04-19. Structure: What’s Behind Us · What We’re Working On Now · What’s Ahead of Us. Living document — one markdown file drives two published pages on blog.tunelark.com.

  • /roadmap/ — formal, typography-forward version suitable for sharing with investors, advisors, or outside stakeholders
  • /drive/ — internal version with a car-on-a-winding-road scene and hover-expand road signs; built in Claude Designer
  • Both pages are password-protected, noindex’d, and chrome-stripped (Tunelark site header/footer hidden so the roadmap stands alone)
  • Single source of truth — edit the markdown once, run the relevant publisher, both views update
📈

Profitability Dashboard

Published

Interactive HTML dashboard modeling Tunelark’s path to profitability and salary-ramp scenarios. Built with Chart.js, self-contained, published to WordPress and shared with Aaron. Designed to be played with — pull the levers, watch the curves move.

Re-Engagement Flows

In Progress

Long-Lapsed and Cold Leads re-engagement flows in progress. Expected to ship in April.

Customer & Teacher Surveys
📝

Annual Surveys — Built, Sent, Collecting Responses

In Market

First annual Tunelark surveys shipped this sprint to inform the 2026–2027 product roadmap. Two separate surveys, different audiences, different questions.

  • Typeform forms built — separate customer and teacher surveys, 7 questions each, under 3 minutes
  • Klaviyo campaigns created to deliver both surveys to the right audiences
  • Customer survey sent 2026-04-14 to 507 customers (506 delivered, 248 opens / 49%, 43 clicks / 8.5%, 32 responses). Nudge v1 sent 2026-04-18 to 464 non-clickers. Nudge v2 queued for non-openers.
  • Teacher survey sent 2026-04-18 to 102 active teachers. Nudge queued for engaged non-openers.
  • Survey Results Analysis is a new project spinning up late week of April 20 once the data stabilizes

SEO & Content Marketing
📄

Blog Engine Scaled Up

Running
  • Publishing cadence doubled to 4 articles per week (Sun/Mon/Wed/Fri) from the previous 2/week rhythm
  • 12 new SEO-optimized articles drafted to feed the extended schedule
  • 24 articles queued through 2026-05-29, automated publisher handling the posts
  • 77-image blog library renamed, filed, and available for reuse across posts
  • Meta description fixes verified live in production HTML
  • Google Search Console submissions processed for the new posts
Operations & Infrastructure
🏅

Teacher Ranking System

Automated

Ranking cadence moved to 2x/week so the marketplace stays fresh as teachers move in and out. Now runs on an automated scheduled task that writes directly to production and reports alerts.

  • Three runs in April (14, 18, 20) — 217 teachers ranked each time
  • 26 teachers on Find-a-Teacher (ranks 1–26), 74 non-FaT, 117 archived
  • Pinned overrides maintained (Russell Kranes #1 piano, Harry Bartlett #1 guitar, Jana Kaminsky #1 violin, Brian Stuligross #2 violin)
  • Alerts surfaced automatically — low availability, new-teacher entries, high-volume teachers — so Jennifer can act on them
🔒

Security Audit & Plan Discussion

Complete

End-to-end audit of Jennifer’s system and working processes to confirm the setup is tight, plus the beginning of a broader conversation about a company-wide security plan.

  • Audit complete across all automation scripts and working files — everything is accounted for and handled the right way
  • All secrets confirmed in .env (which is gitignored); scripts read credentials via os.getenv() at runtime, nothing travels in source control
  • .gitignore hardened — pickle files, client secrets, review folders, and env variants all excluded as a defense-in-depth measure
  • Company-wide security plan — kicked off an initial conversation with Aaron around secret rotation, shared password management, and ongoing hygiene
Social Media — Ready for Saad
📱

Saad Marketing Rollout

Launch April 28

Full rollout plan built during this sprint. Meeting with Saad is Thursday, 2026-04-23. Saad starts Tuesday, 2026-04-28. Two workstreams: 3 posts/week social + ~20 outreach emails/week (5 hr/week total).

  • Posting cadence locked — Tuesday teacher video, Wednesday testimonial, Friday blog link
  • 14 verified TakeLessons outreach targets delivered — broken-link recovery campaign
  • Full doc package — posting playbook, outreach playbook, May content pool, 20 teacher-profile testimonials, outreach tracker, prep checklist
  • Team@ Gmail set up with a switchable “Tunelark Marketing” signature so Saad can toggle context between support and outreach
🔑

Blockers Waiting on Aaron

Action Needed

A few access items the next wave of work needs from Aaron:

  • Approve Saad’s Meta Business invite — when Jennifer added Saad on 2026-04-20 the request routed to Aaron as account owner; needs his approval for Saad to get Page Editor access
  • Share the TikTok 2FA code so Jennifer can log in and add Saad to the TikTok account. Without it, TikTok stays off the launch. IG + FB launch will go ahead 4/28 regardless; TikTok becomes the 4th weekly post as soon as access is in.
  • GA4 Editor access + BigQuery export — Slack request sent to Aaron. Needed to wire up the conversion-funnel analysis for the Lesson Rating rollout.
  • Issue Saad a Ramp card for his Anthropic account — waiting on Aaron to generate the card so Saad can access his Anthropic subscription.

Thailand — 14 of 20 Days, Part-Time Vacation

April 5–19

Fourteen of the twenty days in this sprint were a part-time vacation in Thailand. The roadmap, profitability dashboard, surveys, Saad plan, Sustainability Score course, and most of the Lesson Rating refinements all shipped during or around the trip — a reflection of how much the automated systems and the AI team now carry between sessions.
